Truenat Test:
Rapid molecular test and portable test.
Chip-based, battery-operated RT-PCR kit.
Utilizes the throat and nose swab samples to identify the presence of a virus
Nipah Virus:
Zoonotic RNA Virus
Family: Paramyxoviridae.
Natural Host: Fruit Bats
Fatality Rate : 40-70% ( Highly Fatal)
Transmission: contaminated food or directly between people
First Outbreak: Malaysia in 1999
First Outbreak in India: Kerala in 2018
