Why in news?
Phase I of the Exercise Tarang Shakti begins in the Sulur air base near Coimbatore, Tamilnadu.
About Exercise Tarang Shakti:
It is the first multilateral air exercise being hosted by India.
It is inspired by the Red Flag exercise hosted by the US.
The participating nations are: India, Britain, Spain, Germany and France.
The second phase will be conducted at Jodhpur in Rajasthan from September 1 to 14 and it will see participation from Australia, Bangladesh, Greece, Singapore, UAE and the USA with their assets.
