The southwest monsoon has ended and the northeast monsoon is likely to set in “in the next 72 hours”, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday.

With the setting in of Easterlies/Northeasterlies over southern peninsular India, northeast
monsoon rainfall activity is likely to commence over southern peninsular region in the next 48hours ( October 20-22).
