Tamil Nadu Public Health Act invoked for dengue control.
All government hospitals, major private hospitals and laboratories to be instructed to report all notifiable diseases to the District Surveillance Officer/District Surveillance Unit through the integrated health information platform

Punishable offences under the act:
Failure to report a notifiable disease
Failure to comply with notices requiring measures against mosquito breeding
Interrupting mosquito control work would attract penalties
Notifiable Diseases:
Under section 62 of the act , some diseases are specially mentioned to empower the health authorities to control these diseases.
cerebro-spinal fever,
chicken-pox,
cholera,
diphtheria,
leprosy,
measles,
plague
rabies
scarlet fever,
small-pox,
typhus, or
any other disease which the Government may from time to time by notification
