Context
The Philippines is keen on India and South Korea joining the Squad — the maritime grouping of Australia, Japan, the Philippines, and the U.S. in the South China Sea, General Romeo S. Brawner, Chief of Staff of the Philippines armed forces, said at the Raisina Dialogue on Wednesday.
Terming China the common enemy of both India and the Philippines, he called for greater cooperation between the two countries.
The Squad

Security ‘mini-lateral’ groupings in the Indo-Pacific:The SQUAD has become the recent addition to the series of such mini-lateral security groups in the Indo Pacific region.
Example:Quad, Aukus, the US-Philippines-Japan trilateral and the US-Japan-South Korea trilateral.
Prime Objective:The objective is to deepen the level of integration amongst themselves andcounter the hegemonic tendencies of China in militarizing the South China Sea threatening therules-based order of the Indo-Pacific.
